Continued growth at Fast Forward creates more local jobs in Kearney, NE.
In May, Jaxon will complete studies and attain a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a nationally recognized top-tier industrial sales program.
Dean Tim Jares, of the UNK College of Business and Technology said “Dusty Birge created Fast Forward by thinking about unfilled market needs. That is a skill instilled in our Industrial Distribution students and it is why those graduates enjoy a consistent 100% placement rate, often well before graduation. I look forward to seeing Jaxon help Dusty and his team accelerate Fast Forward’s growth.” The UNK ID Program is really preparing students for success.
Jaxon mentioned, “I already have experience working in sales and leadership positions that I’m bringing to the Fast Forward team. I really enjoy creating relationships with clients while effectively managing a book of business."
Fast Forward has created technology specifically focused in reducing power outages and wildfires for electric utilities. Since their inception in 2022, we have saved utilities over a million dollars in outage mitigation just by identifying and proactively fixing failing components.
Derek Rusher, President of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce said, "Congratulations to Dusty Birge on the addition of Jaxon Worley to the Fast Forward team. As a Kearney High and UNK graduate, Jaxon embodies the spirit of our community's talent and innovation. Jaxon joining Fast Forward is a testament to the growth opportunities available in the Kearney area. I commend Dusty for recognizing and investing in local talent, fostering economic development, and contributing to our vibrant business landscape. On behalf of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and as the Director of Subdivision 3 of the Nebraska Public Power District, we look forward to witnessing Jaxon's success and the continued prosperity of Fast Forward."
Outside of work, Jaxon has a large number of hobbies that take up a majority of his free time. “I love to spend time hunting and fishing, mainly archery hunting for big game. I consider myself to be a sports fanatic as many evenings are spent watching sporting events. When I am not partaking in any of these hobbies, I find myself spending lots of time with my friends, family and 2 yellow Labrador retrievers,” said Jaxon.
CEO Dusty Birge mentioned, “Being able to secure great talent from the University system and keep it local is a big plus for our community and aspiring future grads that want to remain in Nebraska to begin their career. We are proving the model that hiring local is rewarding for both parties.”
Fast Forward has completed over a dozen projects across the US, as far east as Massachusetts.
“As we continue to expand operations nationwide, it’s imperative we continue bringing on reliable and hard-working team members, often highlighting for our customers what the Nebraska/midwestern work ethic is all about,” emphasized Dusty.
