Schutte Expanding Kearney Team
Brett Schutte joined Fast Forward in 2023, undertaking a world's first to help reduce power outages and wildfires for electric utilities. He joined serial entrepreneur Dusty Birge who founded the company in 2021, with a vision to enable system-wide patrols in under 30 days, without increasing costs to the rate payer.
Brett's role started by building out the first in-house vehicle prototype, which has now evolved into a commercially available system that has saved electric utilities over $1M in power outages, whereas Nebraska utilities are leading this charge! His duties have expanded, now managing a team across disciplines, and he needs more people.
Now with contracts in 20% of the US states, Fast Forward is working to scale this local startup and will be adding more jobs for both remote and local team members.
"Brett has excelled in so many different roles at the company, he is positioned well to help us expand the team & implement effective workflows that work at scale,” said CEO Dusty Birge. Dusty also mentioned, "Although Brett didn't initially have a technology background, his knack in making decisions, relentless work ethic, and the ability to 'figure it out' has led him to be a key and instrumental team player here at Fast Forward."

The car system uses thermal cameras to identify failing components that lead to outages and wildfires. This was a tradeshow in Texas last year showcasing the system.
