From the Broadcast Booth to the Field: Next Chapter with Fast Forward

Meet Dave “D.C.” Collins

I’m Dave (D.C.) Collins — originally from Philadelphia, PA, and, for better or worse, a lifelong New York Jets fan. These days, I’m based in New England and have spent most of my career working in communications.

For over 25 years, I’ve worked as a play-by-play broadcaster, engineer, and producer, covering everything from youth baseball to college and minor league sports. It’s been a rewarding journey filled with great people and memorable experiences.

I joined Fast Forward after eagerly applying for the Data Collection Specialist.  CEO, Dusty Birge, Thankfully, he gave me a call — and the opportunity to be part of this team.

Since starting, I’ve really appreciated the support from both the field and the home office. Everyone’s been welcoming and quick to help, which has made settling in easy. Rooted in Kearney, Nebraska, Fast Forward continues to grow—powered by a team whose collaboration and dedication make a real difference every day.

Our crews are earning positive feedback from utility partners across the country, and it’s exciting to see that reputation grow. Having visited all fifty states, I’m looking forward to continuing to travel, meet new people, and take on new challenges with the Fast Forward team.
